Lady Parsons Down Motlow State


The Snead State Lady Parsons defeated Motlow State Wednesday 14-6 and 9-2.

The Parsons scored two runs in the second inning on an RBI single by Karlee Hunter and an RBI single by Kelsey Hayes.

Snead State scored five runs in the fifth inning in game one on an RBI single by Katlin Light, an error, an RBI double by Alex Nations and a two-run error.

The Parsons finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. A two-run error scored Kelsey Hayes and Kelsey Pelham and gave Snead State the lead for good.

Danya Snead racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Snead State Lady Parsons. Sara Duncan got the win for Snead State. She tossed two and two-third innings of shutout ball. She struck out one, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Snead State grabbed an early lead in game two and refused to give it up, scoring six runs in the first three innings.

A solo homerun by Caitlyn Roe during the first inning and a two-run error and two more errors in the second inning supplied the early offense for Snead State. Roe was on fire from the plate for the Lady Parsons. She drove in one and scored two runs.

Sara Duncan got the win for Snead State. She allowed one run over four innings. She struck out four, walked none and gave up five hits.

The Parsons also tacked on three more runs in the sixth. Light started the inning with a single, scoring Kelsey Bowman and Shainna Pearce.

The Lady Parsons will return home on March 28 for a double header against Southern Union. The game will begin at 1 p.m.
