Lady Parsons Go 1-1 Against Marion Military


A 10-run explosion in the ninth inning carried the Snead State Lady Parsons to a 13-5 win over Marion Military on Friday.

Snead State jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Alex Nations got things going for Snead State with a single. Kelsey Pelham doubled, bringing home Danya Snead, Nations and Kelsey Hayes.

Caitlyn Roe helped Snead State take the lead for good in the ninth inning. With the score tied at three, Roe came to the place and doubled. She racked up three RBIs on four hits for Snead State.

Christian Rhodes recorded the win for Snead State, even though she allowed five runs over nine innings. She struck out six, walked 11 and surrendered four hits.

Snead State lost game two 5-3.

The Lady Parsons are now 18-25 and 4-6 in conference play. They are fourth in the ACCC Northern Division. The Lady Parsons will take on Shelton State at home Thursday for a conference double header. Game one begins at 2 p.m.  

Lady Parsons Fall to Shelton State

Snead State took on the number three team in the northern division of the ACCC, Shelton State, on April 10.

The Lady Parsons lost the lead in the sixth inning as Calhoun grabbed a 9-6 victory in seven innings.

Katlin Light racked up two RBIs on two hits for Snead State. She singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Rhodes allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out four.

Snead State lost game two 14-1. Kelsey Pelham was charged with the loss. She allowed 14 runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.

Snead State Takes Down Defending National Champ Wallace Hanceville

Snead State took on Wallace Hanceville at home on April 5. Although they lost game one 14-5, the Lady Parsons took home a 13-5 win in game two.

The loss is Wallace Hanceville’s only conference game loss this season. They are the defending 2013 NJCAA National Champions.

Caitlyn Roe and Shanena Blankenship both went 2-for-4 with one RBI each. Mary Graves went 2-for-3 and had five RBIs.

Danya Snead and Mary Graves both homered in the game.

Danya Snead recorded 3.2 innings for the Lady Parsons. She allowed six hits and five runs. Rhodes got the save in 1.1 innings of work. She allowed one hit.

Snead State defeated the defending national champs Wallace State Hanceville on April 5 in game two 13-5. Freshman Danya Snead got the win for the Lady Parsons.
