Snead Basketball Teams Advance to Quarterfinals
The Snead State basketball teams are both advancing to the quarterfinals of the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament.
The men’s team (18-12) will take on Bishop State Tuesday at 3 p.m. Bishop State is 18-7 and is the no. 2 seed in the ACCC Southern Division.
Snead State defeated Wallace Selma Community College 92-81 on Saturday to advance in the tournament.
Quan Cothron had 18 points and five rebounds for Snead State. Trai James had 18 points and nine assists. Payton Youngblood put up 18 points as well.
The Lady Parsons (19-10) will take on Chattahoochee Valley Wednesday at 5 p.m. Chattahoochee Valley is the no. 1 seed in the ACCC Southern Division and is 21-7.
They defeated Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Friday night 52-48 to move on to the quarterfinals.
Sophomore guard Jon’Nita Henry finished with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Ty Broadwater led the team with six rebounds and three blocks.
