Snead Duo Named Players of the Week


 Two Snead State players have been named ACCC Players of the Week.

Second baseman Brian Dansereau was named ACCC Baseball Player of the Week for Feb. 22-28.

The Douglasville, Ga., native went 5-for-6 with two homeruns and five RBIs during Snead State’s 11-0 shutout and 9-6 win against West Georgia Tech over the weekend. He batted .833 for the Parsons.

Danseareu is currently second in the ACCC batting .483 in 36 plate appearances. He also has five doubles for the Parsons and eight RBIs.

The baseball team is currently 6-4 on the season and will travel to Pensacola State College for a four-game series this weekend.

Courtney Blevins was named the ACCC Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 15-21.

Blevins led Snead State with a .615 batting average while tallying four runs batted in. She crossed the plate four times and was walked once.

The freshman infielder from Henagar is leading the Lady Parsons in batting average (.586), on-base percentage (.618) and slugging percentage (.724). She has recorded two doubles and a triple.

The softball team is 8-15 on the season. They travel to Tennessee Monday to take on Chattanooga State.
