Snead Players Receive ACCC Honors


A pair of Snead State student-athletes have been awarded Player of the Week honors from the Alabama Community College Conference for March 28-April 3.

Sophomore outfielder Audrey Glitzer from Douglas has been named the ACCC Softball Player of the Week.

She helped lead the Lady Parsons to a 5-3 week with a .550 batting average that included a homerun, two triples and eight RBIs. She scored nine runs and added eight stolen bases.

She is currently third in the ACCC in stolen bases on the year with 26. She’s batting .395 on the season with a .490 on base percentage.

Josh Letson was named the ACCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Letson, a sophomore pitcher from Alabaster, tossed a complete game shutout during Snead State’s 4-0 win over conference foe Wallace State Sunday afternoon.

He also picked up a save in Friday’s 8-4 win over Wallace State. He had seven strikeouts on the week with one walk. He has a 2.30 ERA on the season.

Both teams will resume conference play at home Thursday.

The baseball team (12-15 and 5-7) will face Central Alabama Community College. The first of two games will begin at noon. The Lady Parsons (18-25 and 7-7) will take on Gadsden State in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
