Snead State Community Choir and Orchestra Presents Christmas in Appalachia

The Snead State Community Choir and Orchestra will perform music composed within and about the Appalachian region as part of a special Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Bevill Center Auditorium.

“Christmas in Appalachia” will include Christmas and Advent carols as well as folk music indigenous to northeast Alabama and southern Tennessee. The Choir and Orchestra will also perform music written by Appalachian composers.

The concert features selections such as the popular Appalachian hymn “O Waly Waly,” “Simeon’s Vision” based on the Biblical passage Luke 2:29-32, and a medley of “Amazing Grace,” “Simple Gifts,” and “Silent Night,” entitled “Appalachian Christmas.”

Admission is free to the holiday concert. The community is invited to attend.
