Snead State Welcomes New Addition to Career and Technical Faculty
Snead State Community College recently added a full-time instructor to the Career and Technical Education faculty.
Louis Griffin of Gadsden stepped up from his role as an adjunct instructor to a full-time position as instructor for the Industrial Systems Technology program. Mr. Griffin has worked as an adjunct at Snead State since 2019, so stepping into his new position was a familiar transition.
“We’re proud to have Louis join the faculty full-time as we grow our Industrial Systems Technology program,” said Career and Technical Education Division Director Greg Randall. “His experience and training are assets to the program, but his dedication to student success is an example of the commitment to excellence we have at Snead State.”
Mr. Griffin holds three Associate in Applied Science degrees in Broadcast Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, and Industrial Electronics Specialization. He completed an apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic Apprentice with AIDT/Mercedes Benz USI in Tuscaloosa.
His work experience includes serving as an Electrician Assistant for PG Wells in Gadsden, a Maintenance Technician for Mercedes Benz USI in Tuscaloosa, and a Production Supervisor for Cagles in Collinsville.
In addition to working as an instructor, Mr. Griffin also operates a vinyl/screen printing business. He and his wife reside in Gadsden, and have three children and eight grandchildren.
The Industrial Systems Technology program at Snead State is a multi-craft degree path that prepares students for careers in advanced manufacturing and automated systems maintenance.
