Snead State Welcomes New Associate Dean for Online Learning

Mr. Gibson came to Snead State from Calhoun Community College where he served as Chair of the Computer Information Systems Department and as an Instructor. Prior to that he worked at Athens State University for five years in multiple roles, including Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems and Director of the Office of Academic Support and Instructional Systems. “I am excited to have Michael Gibson as part of the Snead State family. He brings with him a wealth of experience in distance education, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to grow our online programs,” said Dr. Annette Cederholm, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Born and raised in Morgan County, Mr. Gibson graduated from Hartselle High School. He is married to Ryan Cate Gibson, who is employed with UAH and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Reading & Literacy at Alabama A&M.
The Gibsons have one son, Jonathan, who is 18 years old and pursuing his welding certification from Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
