Snead State Community College

Entire Degree Online

Bertha Mae Jones of Orrville was recognized for her unique achievement during the 2007 Commencement Ceremony at Snead State Community College. She earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Child Development through Snead State’s distance education program.

"The Commencement Ceremony was the first time Mrs. Bertha Mae Jones has set foot on our campus. She has earned her entire degree online, which is a testament to her commitment and self-discipline,” said Interim President Mr. Lavell Thrasher.

In celebrating her achievement, the mother of three sons was joined by her family with the exception of one son, who is soon to be deployed to Iraq. Mrs. Jones said her plans are now to find another distance education program that will allow her to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development while keeping her job at a day care center.
