A good education is an investment that will pay off for a lifetime. With today's high educational costs, financing an education is often difficult. Financial assistance is available! Snead State Community College offers grants, scholarships, and work-study programs to assist students with the cost of their education.

Financial aid is designed to help students meet the educational costs of eligible programs of study. Most aid is need-based and is established to assist student and their families. It is not a means of replacing the families' responsibilities but a means of supplementing what families can afford. Snead State Community College participates in federal and state financial aid programs.
Students who wish to qualify for federal programs (and most state programs) must:
 |
Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with a valid Social Security Number. |
 |
Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate. |
 |
Enroll in an eligible program as a regular student seeking a degree or certificate, and |
 |
Register (or have registered) with the Selective Service if you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25. |

All federal financial aid requires that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be completed. Applications may be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or a pre-addressed envelope is included with each application. The college code for Snead State Community College is 001038. Once processed, the applicant will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). All applicants should have the application completed as soon as possible, after January 1, for consideration of all available aid.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available on January 1 of each year and should be submitted as early as possible after that date.
Snead State Community College has a priority deadline of April 15 for supplemental financial aid awards.
DEADLINE: Students must have all applications processed and all required documentation to the Office of Student Services ten days prior to registration.
